When cutting plates that are 20 mm (3/4”) or thicker, Oxy-Fuel gives the best results all told and should be considered as primary process. High performance nozzle design increases cutting speed, the most significant factor for process efficiency.

Based on the latest statistics, 20-50 mm (3/4”-2”) carbon steel plate thickness is the mostly used area for Oxy-Fuel cutting. 

High-Speed, Perfect-Quality Cuts

Usage of a good quality nozzle will result in high cutting speed and perfect quality cut.

Perpendicularity and straightness of the cut in entire thickness range is an advantage of Oxy-Fuel cutting in comparison with the other thermal cutting processes.

Cutting results can be improved with the Rapid Cutting Nozzles which have cutting speeds exceeding 900 mm/min. Nozzles are equipped with a Tool-Free system for fast and 
easy handling.

Fully Automated Cutting

Automation ensures maximal productivity and safe cutting environment as it prevents the operator from using the system incorrectly.

Sensors, control elements and software cooperate together to provide optimal operation. The integrated cutting database ensures consistent high cutting quality and reduce scraped parts (decrease the process cost). 

The parameters in the database have been developed based on many cutting tests with wide variety of conditions. A fully automated process maximises the efficiency of the 
cutting machine.

  • Automated flame ignition

    Automatic ignition of the flame, speeds up the process. The flame can be stopped automatically when the cut is finished and then be easy re-ignited  when preheating of the next piece needs to start. By this an important amount of gases is saved.

  • Slag Detection

    Slag detection followed by automatic parameters adjustment allows a perfect cut even if slag from previous piercing is in the way.

  • Backfire Safety

    Safety should never be compromised. Early detection of any accident helps to prevent material loss and more importantly, personal injury. Detection of sustained backfire minimises the risk of dangerous situations. The flame is stopped automatically when sensors detect the backfire.

  • APC Robot

    Special configuration has been designed for 3D cutting operations. Wherever cutting of tubes and profiles, pressure vessel’s domes, bevelling of plates or even scrapping or other 3D cutting is needed, APC as complete technology solution is an easy tool for the System Integrator.
